The best ever that should not have remakes are: Casablanca, Maltese Falcon, True Grit, African Queen, Citizen Kane, Mr Roberts, His Girl Friday, Gone with the Wind, Lawrence of Arabia, The Wizard of Oz, Some like it hot, Star wars, Dr Zhivago, Rear Window, MASH, Guess who's coming to dinner and of course Duck Soup.
However, since we have no actors or actresses the quality of Bogart, Wayne, Welles, Grant, Gable, Garland, Lemon, Stewart, Tracy, Hepburn or the Marx Brothers; remakes are out of the question. Do it once...Make it the Best, and never try again. Some things cannot be duplicated.
